New opportunities, a new year, new hopes
I have hit the ground running this January. With lots of new clients joining me to move away from pain.
Probably because January is the time many of us reflect and plan for the year ahead.
To move away from frustrations and limitations.
And central to moving away from pain is finding healthy movement.
Because movement is
‘using your body to engage with life’ (McGonigal, 2019).
HOW we move is influenced by so many things. Pain, trauma, emotions, loss of flexibility can change how we move leading to persistent pain.
And then we are in a loop...
Pain / Movement / Pain / Movement.
This loop changes how we coordinate the movements of our joints and how we orchestrate synergies of muscles to produce the movement at our joints.
We are able to restore how we coordinate the movements of our joints and how we orchestrate synergies of muscles in everyday movements.
Here’s the thing. It is possible... restoring healthy movement can help us move away from ongoing pain.
- We deep dive into movement quality. We find what has changed and through the programme build on restoring healthy movement
- And we explore the triggers - what's maintaining these patterns / how does this fit with the pattern?
