Sarah
lectures internationally on the assessment, diagnosis
and classification of movement faults and motor control
and movement retraining. She is a founding director
of KC International (a company with an international
reputation involved in education of this process) and
teaches as a Kinetic Control Accredited Tutor and Performance
Stability Instructor. In this field she works with Mark
Comerford who is also recognized internationally for
his contribution to Physiotherapy. Together they developed
The Performance Matrix, a unique screening process for
movement and sport and this is used in an international
sports arena.
Her clinical interests have developed from an understanding
of movement and function and with her educational and
research work continues to make links between uncontrolled
movement and symptoms, disability, movement dysfunction,
recurrence of symptoms, risk of injury and performance.
She holds a research post at Southampton University
and is currently researching how movement faults influence
shoulder pain.
She has a Masters in Physiotherapy from University College
London and currently lectures on the Masters programmed
at Keeled University. Sarah is a member of the Manipulation
Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and uses this
specialist knowledge in the clinic. She is also a certified
Pilates Matwork instructor with the PILATES Foundation
UK and a Gyrotonic® Trainer, and incorporates these
valuable tools in her clinical practice. She is on the
organizing committee for the 3rd international conference
on movement dysfunction (Edinburgh 2009). Sarah has
published many articles on uncontrolled movements, including
papers on shoulder stability and risk assessment.
